Wedding Venues Guide — An Honest Look at 20 Years of UK Weddings

This wedding venues guide is the product of twenty years and more than 450 weddings. From intimate country houses to grand stately homes, barns with character to city venues with elegance — every space tells a different story, and every couple brings something new to it.

This page is a guide to the venues I know best. Each one has its own dedicated post with photographs I’ve taken there, honest insight into what makes it special, and practical detail about what it’s like to get married there. Whether you’ve already booked your venue and you’re looking for a photographer who knows the space, or you’re still deciding where to hold your wedding, I hope this is a useful starting point.

A Wedding Venues Guide to Lancashire & the Ribble Valley

Lancashire is home, and the Ribble Valley in particular has some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the North West. Rolling countryside, historic manor houses, and venues that strike the perfect balance between character and warmth.

Stanley House Hotel & Spa — a 17th-century Grade II listed manor house set in 54 acres of Ribble Valley countryside. Intimate, elegant, and wonderfully photogenic. Winner of Lancashire’s Hotel Wedding Venue of the Year.

Beeston Manor — 140 acres of Lancashire countryside with oak beams, sandstone walls, and panoramic views. A venue with real soul.

The East Midlands

I spent eighteen years building my reputation across the East Midlands, and many of the venues here are places I’ve returned to again and again. These are spaces I know inside out — the light, the timings, the best spots for every part of the day.

Prestwold Hall — a magnificent Palladian country house in Leicestershire where I’ve photographed more weddings than anywhere else.

This page is a living index — I’m adding new venue posts every week, each one with real photographs and honest insight from my experience there. Check back regularly, or get in touch and I’ll let you know when your venue goes live.

Every venue on this page has been photographed by me, and each post contains real images from real weddings I’ve documented there. If you’re getting married at any of these venues — or anywhere else in the UK — I’d love to hear about your plans. Get in touch or take a look at what’s included.
