Thornton Manor Wedding Photography | Dan & Anna

Stevenson-252

I know its unfair to assume that a Monday wedding won’t be as good as a Saturday wedding, but you would – wouldn’t you?

Well, any apprehensions I had about how good Dan & Anna’s September Thornton Manor wedding was going to be were soon lost after being greeted at Anna’s bridal prep by the friendliest bunch of ladies. I immediately knew it was going to be a great day.

Located in the village of Thornton Hough in The Wirral, the house was built in the 19th century, has been altered and extended a number of times and is now designated as a Grade II listed building. From 1888 to the end of the 20th century the house was occupied by the Viscounts Leverhulme. It’s now used as a conference and events centre, and a venue for weddings. If you’re looking for a great venue for your special day, you really will not go wrong having a Thornton Manor Wedding.

It’s great meeting other wedding vendors, and another supplier present during the girls’ prep at this Thornton Manor Wedding was fellow regional “UK Wedding Industry Award” winner for the best NorthWest make-up artist category, Jodie Smith. Jodie’s work is stunning as you’ll see when you look at the girls’ hair & makeup in the images below. She’s also a lovely lady and she comes highly recommended by me. After the girls had had hair & make-up done, I moved round to the other side of the estate, where groom Dan & the boys were getting ready, then on to the house for the girls’ final preparations.

Entertainment was by The Hot Jazz Biscuits, a soulful Shropshire wedding band. With a repertoire ranging from jazz and swing, through Motown, all the way to disco and pop, this dynamic group provide a sublime musical backdrop.

  • Really beautiful, Ian. Your black and white work particularly stands out in this dramatic natural lighting of deep rooms, dark wood-paneling and light from wonderful tall windows. It’s always a pleasure to work in Thornton Manor!

  • Many thanks for the kind comments Martin, it’s a beautiful venue indeed. I love the back room with all the little pockets of light coming in through those windows. You can’t go wrong when you have both a great venue and great people.

  • I’ve shot at Thornton Manor a few times and know it well. No question, you’ve captured the beauty of the place perfectly. And your narrative is, well, first class of course.
