Prices
Albums are made to order, so the honest answer to what one costs is a range and then a quote. These are the starting figures, and what moves them.
Every quote separates the album from the labour. The album line covers the book itself and anything that goes with it, priced on size, page count, cover material, laminate, box and finishing. Below it, the work is itemised by the hour: layout design, cover design, box design and preflighting, then delivery. Nothing is bundled or estimated in the dark, and you see the whole thing before you commit to anything.
The from-prices below are genuine starting totals — album, design time and UK delivery, all in — for a modest, real configuration of each book, not a stripped-down minimum nobody actually orders. Each product page also shows how the price moves with page count, so you can see the shape of it before you ask for a quote.
Albums, from
I am not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. These prices are shown all-in — design hours and UK delivery already included — though every quote still itemises each line separately so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
Soft back books, in quantity
The soft back is the book for anything that needs more than one copy: a season review, a conference, an anniversary history, a family edition for everyone who wants one. The unit price falls steeply with the run.

Ten photographs for £125.00
Scratches, creases, foxing, water spotting, tears and missing corners.
Ten photographs for £250.00

Ten photographs for £600.00
Colourisation is quoted per photograph, on top of any repair the picture needs: see colourisation.
What moves the price
Size and page count
The two biggest levers by some distance. A larger book with more spreads costs more to make and more to design.
Cover material
Leatherette and linen sit at the bottom, full leather and metal at the top, with a wide middle of fabrics and woods.
Paper and finishing
Silver halide printing, cotton stocks and laminates all carry a difference, though a smaller one than people expect.
Ennoblements
Laser engraving, foil, debossing, cover windows and a matching box are each priced individually.
Design work
How many photographs there are, how much sequencing and retouching they need, and whether you want captions and written passages.
Copies
Parent copies of the same album are cheaper than the first. Soft back runs fall away sharply with quantity.
