I’ve documented countless weddings at Maverick Venues’ Leicestershire wedding venues Sutton Bonington Hall & Prestwold Hall, but this was my first time covering a Norwood Park Wedding. Late September shone brightly for Katie & Dwight’s perfect day.
So what makes a Norwood Park wedding really stand out? The house is often described as one of England’s finest examples of Georgian country house venues, combining Georgian architecture with over one hundred acres of parkland, adorned with ancient oaks and orchards born out of the original Bramley apple developed in Southwell in the 1840’s.
The Hall is not open to the general public, thus allowing guests to enjoy the elegance of this beautiful period house in complete privacy. It is this privacy, seclusion and deep sense of luxury and tradition which makes a Norwood Park wedding so special. It truly is one of the elite Nottinghamshire wedding venues.
My coverage of the day started at Norwood, before driving 15 mins away to get a few shots of the boys getting ready. I headed back to Norwood to finish Katie’s preparations with her parents and bridesmaids before heading off on the short drive to Southwell Minster where Katie & Dwight run the cafe in the grounds of the famous minster. It only seemed fitting that they should choose to get married in the Minster, having such a close working relationship. Katie is also a very keen horse rider and has horses so it also seemed only right that they had a horse & carriage to and from the ceremony venue.
Norwood itself was fantastic, the staff are typical Maverick Venue calibre, being highly professional, attentive & friendly at all times. It was also great to work again with a couple of East Midlands Wedding Vendors that I’ve bumped into before on my travels. Kerry at Tineke Floral Designs, winner of the East Midlands Best Florist Category at the 2013 UK Wedding Industry Awards supplied the stunning floral arrangements, and Nottingham Acoustic Artist Richie Muir & his band got the evening reception off to a rocking start. I can’t wait for my next Norwood Park Wedding!
