Album design service for photographers

Ten per cent on referrals

Introduce a client and step away. I handle everything from there.

Nothing to project-manage

I deal with the client directly, from files to finished album.

No minimum volume

One album a year is fine. So is one a week.

Albums are the part of the job most photographers quietly dropped. The margin looked thin, the layout took evenings, and clients stopped asking. So galleries get delivered, the files sit on a drive, and the work you spent a decade learning to make never becomes an object.

There is money sitting in that gap. Not much per album, but it is money on work you were never going to do anyway, and it costs you nothing but an introduction.

Refer a client, take ten per cent

Point a client at me and step away. I deal with them directly, design and print the album, and you take ten per cent of its value. Nothing to quote, nothing to project-manage, no evenings lost to layout software.

It is passive income on work you would otherwise never make. A handful of referrals a year from a back catalogue you have already been paid for is the whole proposition; there is no volume commitment and nothing to sign.

What I need, and what you get back

Once you have made the introduction, your client sends me a gallery link or a drive of edited JPEGs and I take it from there. I sequence, lay out and prepare for the specific paper and press, then send them a digital proof. You are welcome to see it first if you would like to, but nothing needs you.

Two rounds of amends are included. Colour and density are handled in pre-press, which is where most album disappointments actually originate: a file that looks right on a calibrated screen can print flat if nobody accounts for the paper it is going onto.

Why photographers hand this over

Design time is unbilled time. Four to six hours of layout on a wedding is a day you could have spent shooting, editing or selling. And clients rarely argue with an album they have been shown; they argue with an album they have been asked to imagine.

Your client stays your client: I am designing an album, not looking for photography work. Once you have made the introduction I handle every conversation from there, so nothing comes back to you.

Tell me what you have, and what you would like made

Send me the photographs and a sentence about the occasion. I will come back with a recommendation and a price, with no obligation.
