A very challenging location back in July for the wedding of Daniel & Sarah.
Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel is set beside the famous racing circuit Donington Park. The seventeenth-century farmhouse has a series of original brick & timber barns, sympathetically restored to create a collection of rooms suitable for weddings, parties, company events and meetings. Two of the rooms in the barn complex are licensed for civil marriages.
The barn in which Daniel & Sarah got married has no windows, so is lit exclusively and to a very low level with tungsten lighting. Needless to say, the shots taken inside were all taken at 6400 iso with low shutter speeds and fast prime lenses. Switch to outdoors and in very bright sunshine and I’m shooting at 200 iso and with shutter speeds of around 1000th/sec, so the contrast in the lighting conditions on the day was immense.
The wedding breakfast was then held in a converted pigsty with tables in the original pens – a great and very quirky feature! Fave pics from the day are below…
