The sensible default. A fine pearl texture diffuses reflections while keeping most of the depth and contrast of gloss: easy to look at in any light, and forgiving of handling.
The brightest and most saturated of the Canon papers. A high-gloss surface holds the deepest blacks and the widest colour, with a mirror-like sheen that shows fingerprints and reflections.
Velvety and completely reflection-free, with a soft-touch surface. Blacks read as dense rather than glossy: the quietest, most contemporary of the papers.
The closest the offset press comes to a photographic print: a bright, faintly pearlescent coating with clean whites and strong colour. The safe choice for most albums.
A warm, uncoated art stock with a soft felt grain. Ink sits into the fibre rather than on top of it, so images read gentler and slightly muted: lovely for newborn and film-toned work.
A true photographic print, exposed onto light-sensitive paper and chemically developed. The fine pearl surface holds continuous tone with no dot structure at all: the most photographic of everything I print.
Photographic paper on a metallised base. Highlights take on a bright, almost chromed depth and colour runs hot; best used deliberately, on images that can carry it.

Young Book
Clean lines and a lighter frame: the album for a modern eye.
The Young Book is for people who want the craft without the formality. Where the traditional album carries thick covers and a rounded spine, the Young Book does away with the curves: slimmer covers, straight edges, and a book and box reduced to their essential shapes. The layouts do the talking.
It is a full flush-mount album underneath: pages open completely flat, so a spread can run edge to edge without a break. Sizes run from a compact 20×30 cm through the classic 30×40 cm up to 35×45 cm, each with matching square and landscape versions, and 30 to 110 pages to work with.
Papers include Canon DreamLabo HD on lustre, glossy or deep matte; photographic silver halide on lustre or metallic; and Indigo offset on Photo Lux or Tintoretto, left unlaminated, or matte-laminated on certain papers. Covers are handmade one at a time in Touch, leather, leatherette, Cloud or Class Leatherette, maple, cork, wood fibre, linen or Fluo, and the hinged box with its satin ribbon can be finished to match. Personalise with laser engraving, colour overprinting, raised varnishing or raised foil; add white, black or Lux linings and printed block edges.
Smaller copies can be made from the same layout: flush-mount parent books, or perfect-bound pocket books, so parents and family can have their own without you designing anything twice.
