Mid July saw me shooting my second Kilworth House wedding of three in 2013 and also my first time at the very quaint St. Andrew’s church in Thringstone for the wedding of Sim & Ruth.
The start of my day was very different, as I normally start with bridal preparations, but Ruth was keen for me to start at the church instead. For a documentary photographer who likes to observe and record the whole day unfolding it was a little hard to get used to as the day starts off with me working closely with the bride and her family and helps to build up a rapport and make folks feel more comfortable with having a photographer around them.
But after my initial fears upon arriving at an empty church way ahead of everyone else, it didn’t seem to make much difference once the vicar, and Sim and their guests started to arrive. The ceremony was a lovely, intimate affair and after the celebrations outside the church, Ruth and Sim drove themselves down the M1 to Kilworth House for their reception.
A list of Ruth & Sim’s other wedding vendors is below along with my forty favourite images to tell the story of their day.
