Rebecca & James’s Loughborough, Leicestershire Wedding

A terrific day in Loughborough recently for the blessing of Rebecca & James at Emmanuel Church in Loughborough. James is currently serving in the armed forces and the couple are now based over in Germany. They married in a UK registry office ceremony in December 2009 but decided to come back home again for a full church blessing, along with a full reception for close friends and family in late Spring 2010.

The day started with hair styled by Deni at Glitz Hair Design in Loughborough, before moving on to Rebecca’s mum’s for the bridal preparations. Rebecca’s son Ethan (6) did her proud walking her down the aisle at the church in full military dress and after the service Bride, Groom and myself sneaked away for 15 minutes for some portraits at Charnwood Water before rejoining the guests at The Cedars Hotel for the afternoon & evening celebrations. Local band The Fixx entertained with a blistering set which had the floor filled from the opening song of their first set. Robert & Rachel – Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire

Wasn’t July wet… and so was early August! It poured it down on the eve of Robert & Rachel’s big day at Prestwold Hall near Loughborough on August 7th, but the sun very kindly popped out and stayed for the day. I love the quality of light at this venue, makes for wonderful natural light work without having to resort to using obtrusive flash. The only time the flash came out was for just a handful of shots all day, one for the formal groups and the rest for the first dance. 15 shots below to tell the mini-story of the day…

Jamie & Lucy, St Marys Catholic Church, Loughborough

How many of us could have our wedding reception in our back gardens? OK, maybe we all could to some extent, so maybe I’ll rephrase the question. How many of us could fit a huge marquee in our back garden, fit in 120 odd guests, a DJ and a band and still have a stack of room left over? Jamie & Lucy could and they did with great style and success on the 26th of July here in Loughborough and only 2 minute’s walk from my house – the most local wedding I’ve ever covered!

The ceremony was held at St Mary’s in Loughborough, a beautiful church on Ashby Road in the town. Then onto the reception, with some beautiful touches. The most striking being the ornate decorations above each table in the marquee and the amazing tree in the garden which was bedecked with framed pictures of guests at their own weddings – a really nice touch!

A great – and very emotional – set of speeches and amazing first dance rounded off my coverage on a great day. Thanks to Jamie & Lucy for allowing me the honour of covering their wedding. Below are just 8 images carefully selected to tell the story of the day.
