Hello and welcome to my blog site.
I am a documentary wedding photographer based in Loughborough, Leicestershire and a fully active member of the international organisation the WPJA - Wedding Photojournalist Association. I shoot weddings in a documentary style with no intervention or intrusion (apart from a few formals if requested) enabling my clients and their guests to get on enjoy their day without worrying about the photography taking over.
I shoot digitally, working with professional Nikon D3 cameras and lenses. 99% of my images are captured without the use of a flash, preferring to utilise the beauty of natural light. This also enables me to remain very unobtrusive at weddings.
Alex and Sarah tied the knot on Saturday 8th August and like the wedding I covered the day previously, the weather stayed absolutely glorious. The funniest part of the day was when Sarah turned up at the church, the driver got out of the car and left the handbrake off. The car proceeded to move down the road about 8 feet with the bridesmaids screaming at the driver who was completely oblivious. Luckily he managed to stop the motor in time! Wasn’t July wet… and so was early August! It poured it down on the eve of Robert & Rachel’s big day at Prestwold Hall near Loughborough on August 7th, but the sun very kindly popped out and stayed for the day. I love the quality of light at this venue, makes for wonderful natural light work without having to resort to using obtrusive flash. The only time the flash came out was for just a handful of shots all day, one for the formal groups and the rest for the first dance. 15 shots below to tell the mini-story of the day…
A few images from Alex & Chela’s wedding on Saturday August 1st at St. Peters Church in Oadby, Leicester. A great day, the rain holding off until most folks arrived at The Belmont Hotel for the reception. Some guests were a little late due to the hold-ups caused by the Caribbean Carnival but this didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm on the day…
