Ian Bursill Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog site.

I am a documentary wedding photographer based in Loughborough, Leicestershire and a fully active member of the international organisation the WPJA - Wedding Photojournalist Association. I shoot weddings in a documentary style with no intervention or intrusion (apart from a few formals if requested) enabling my clients and their guests to get on enjoy their day without worrying about the photography taking over.

I shoot digitally, working with professional Nikon D3 cameras and lenses. 99% of my images are captured without the use of a flash, preferring to utilise the beauty of natural light. This also enables me to remain very unobtrusive at weddings.

Sultan & Diana – Holy Trinity Barrow upon Soar

A local wedding in Barrow upon Soar on the 11th April but with a distinctively international flavour with family & friends from all corners of the world attending. Diana & Sultan married at Holy Trinity Church and celebrated afterwards with a vintage red double-decker bus ride around Charnwood before stopping off at Woodhouse Village Hall for their reception. A surprise lay in store for the guests in the form of a wonderful operatic performance which included a surprise rendition by the groom himself. Terrific!

Alex & Marisa – Kenilworth Castle

Saturday 14th March saw my first wedding of the new season at Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. Alex proposed to Marisa at the castle and they duly returned for their wedding. A great day, blessed by beautiful weather and great light – the gatehouse was a testing place in which to shoot as the Oak panelled walls were so dark, but the D3, a fast prime lens and a steady hand coped well. A handful of shots to tell the story of their day…
